The Party Plan by Melanie Jayne- Review

Blurb:

Avery Grant has been through a rough patch, she gave up her career to move home to help take care of her ailing parents. She married a man that she did not love and he almost bankrupted her family's farm. Now she is going to get what she wants and for over twenty years she has wanted Kade Martin.

Kade has been attracted to his sister's best friend for twenty years. In the beginning Avery was too innocent, then she was married and he was busy working hard and playing harder.

The plan is simple.

After tonight's party for their godson's engagement, Avery is going home with Kade. One night of sex with no strings.

That's the plan.

My Review:

The Party PlanThe Party Plan by Melanie Jayne
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Avery is divorced from a man she didn't love who bankrupted her family's farm. She has worked to get family business up and running again, and now she is ready to go after what she really wants in her life. She has always been attracted to her best friend's brother, and there is an upcoming event where she will finally have a chance to give herself the night of pleasure with him she has always wanted. Kade is a notorious playboy, but he has always been attracted to his sister's best friend Avery. For him, the timing was always off and then he was focused on his career. Now he is ready to finally explore his attraction and possibly more.

This was a pretty quick read, and there wasn't much too it. The characters are very likable and it is easy to connect with Avery and wish her the best. Kade is also a really enjoyable character and it is easy to see why Avery would be so eager to have some fun with him. There is definitely a villain in this story, but I like the way that person was dealt with by the other characters since the level of mean this person exuded was just so ridiculously high. Watching Avery and Kade connect in a new way was charming and sexy. I enjoyed this short read and would read more by this author in the future.
