Entice by Stacey Lynn writing as S. Layne- Release Day Blitz with Review!

ENTICE  the affair series, book one by Stacey Lynn writing as S. Layne is
NOW LIVE!

When the most difficult decision of Laurie Baker’s life needed to be made, she took off for a weekend alone to weigh her pros and cons and consider all her options.
What she didn’t expect was to run face first into one more complication her life didn’t need.
Distracting, sexy, and British, Liam Parker offered Laurie exactly what she needed when she was desperate for attention.
One night of pleasure.
She wanted it.
She craved it.
She took it.
And when the sunlight dawned and the lusty haze of one night of passion disappeared and reality revealed itself…
Laurie returned home knowing that everything she had once believed, everything she had once loved and desired, was about to be tossed upside down and shaken in a way she could never imagine.

Entice, The Affair Series

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Laurie's life has become complicated. Her husband and best friend betrayed her, and she is trying to make some really tough decisions about her life. She goes to a conference for work and is using that time to try and decide what to do next. When she gets to her hotel she encounters Liam and for the first time ever finds herself attracted to someone besides her husband. She and Liam agree to one night of passion, but then things start to get really challenging. Laurie finds herself suddenly facing questions about more than her relationship and there are some pretty complicated choices suddenly facing her.

This book had me engaged quickly and took me on an emotional roller coaster. There are lots of tough situations here with no clear way through. I like that this book doesn't make things easy. When a marriage falls apart, things are messy and there are a lot of mixed emotions. Books tend to simplify the beginning and ending of relationships, and this author didn't do that (which I appreciated). There aren't good guys and bad guys here. Each character has made good and bad choices, and is struggling with the consequences of those choices. I did feel a lot of sympathy towards Laurie. She seemed to find herself in situations where she was repeatedly kept in the dark about situations that would have major impacts on her life. The sexual chemistry was intense between Laurie and Liam, but we the story ends in a place where I am struggling with what I would like to happen for these characters. I have read and enjoyed other books by this author, and will most definitely be continuing with this series.

S. Layne currently lives in Minnesota with her husband and four children. When she’s not conquering mountains of laundry and fighting a war against dust bunnies and cracker crumbs, you can find her playing with her children, curled up on the couch with a good book, or on the boat with her family enjoying Minnesota’s beautiful, yet too short, summer. She lives off her daily pot of coffee, can only write with a bowlful of Skittles nearby, and has been in love with romance novels since before she could drive herself to the library.
