  excerpt

Elaine slowly crept into the room, making her feet fall as light as she could as she approached the bed. She didn’t want the little girl to wake and scream the entire house awake. She didn’t want her presence to be known. Not just yet. Elaine got to the head of the bed and stared down at her. She was so beautiful. A perfect little angel asleep with her favorite stuffed purple elephant clutched to her chest as she lay on her back. Her vulnerability scared Elaine. Anyone could take her from her bed and she wouldn’t have a chance to scream. She probably wouldn’t stir awake when she was touched, easy for someone to slit her throat. Elaine squeezed her eyes shut, banishing the scary thoughts out of her mind. God, she couldn’t think like that anymore. Things were different now, safer for her.

Katya. Elaine wanted so much to touch her, to kiss her, to hold her in her arms and never let go. Despite everything, she would never regret having her baby girl. Katya was the only good thing to ever come from her. Elaine had been away for a very long time, but it had all been for her, for Katya’s safety. She really hoped her daughter still remembered her.

She leaned down and pressed her lips lightly to her baby’s head then whispered, “You sleep so well my heart, because you know you are loved.”

Elaine paused where she was and held very still when she felt movement behind her.

“You know, this is how people get shot—breaking and entering.”

Coincidental Cowgirl by Jillian Neal- Release Event

Coincidental Cowgirl by Jillian Neal

Born and raised on the sunny shores of Gypsy Beach, Hope Camden is struggling to make sense of life on her husband's family cattle ranch which is often buried in three feet of snow. She willingly traded in her flip-flops for cowgirl boots, but life on the ranch isn't quite how she imagined it. Truthfully, she doesn't understand how anyone survives in a town where the cows vastly outnumber the people, the mailman reads the mail before delivering it, the doctor's office is in an old mechanic's shop, and the poodle-grooming beauty shop owner moonlights for the mortuary? Her husband is kind, sweet, and oh so sexy, but the Nebraskan winter may be more than she can withstand.
Born and bred to be a cowboy, Brock Camden is desperate to make Hope love Pleasant Glen as much as he does. There's nothing better than having his wife in his arms or in his bed. He just has to show her that life on his family's cattle ranch will be just as magical as their life on Gypsy Beach if she'll give it a chance. A shocking twist of fate has both of them clinging tightly to one another, and Brock has to prove that he'll stand by her side come thick or thin. Will the fiery passion they have between the sheets be enough to keep them burning through the long, cold winter nights?

About Jillian Neal

Bestselling author, Jillian Neal, was not only born 30 but also came accessorized with loads of books and adorable handbags in which to carry them, at least that's what she tells people. After earning a degree in education, she discovered that her passion could never be housed inside a classroom. A vehement lover of love and having maintained a lifelong affair with the awe-inspiring power of words, she set to turn the romance industry on its head. Her overly-caffeinated, troupe-spinning muse is never happy with the standard formula story. She believes every book should be brimming with passion, loaded with hot sexy scenes, packed with a gut-punch of emotion, and have characters that leap off the page and right into your heart.
Her first series, The Gifted Realm, defines contemporary romance with a fantasy twist. Her Gypsy Beach series will leave you longing to visit the sultry shores of the tiny bohemian beach town, and her erotic romance series, Camden Ranch, will make you certain there is nothing better than a cowboy with some chaps and a plan. The sheer amount of coffee required to keep all of those characters dancing in her head would border on lethal, so she unleashes their engaging stories on page after page of spellbinding reads.
Jillian lives outside of Atlanta with her own sexy sweetheart, their teenage sons, and enough stiletto heels, cowgirl boots, and flip-flops to exist in any of the fictional worlds she brings to life.

The Queen B* and the Homecoming King by Crista McHugh- Release Event and Review!

The Queen B* And the Homecoming King by Crista McHugh

The Queen B*, Alexis Wyndham, has only three rules when it comes to dating that star quarterback, Brett Pederson:
  1. No obligations to spend every waking moment with each other.
  2. No public displays of affection while at Eastline High.
  3. And absolutely, under no circumstances, will she ever go to the Homecoming dance.
But as her life is completely upended time and time again, she begins to wonder if some rules are meant to be broken.

Excerpt:

I'd never greeted a Monday morning with dozens of giddy butterflies in my stomach. Usually, I reserved my most dramatic sighs and biting comments for Mondays because—let's face it—they suck. But this Monday morning was different.
I, Alexis Wyndham, was officially Brett Pederson's girlfriend.
But I still wasn't ready to announce that to the world.
As we floated in a canoe among the water lilies in Lake Washington yesterday, I lay down a few ground rules to help me ease into this unprecedented (and unimaginable) situation. After all, it's not every day the Queen B* and the Quarterback become a couple. Dropping that bomb on our classmates could cause a rift in the space-time continuum.
Or at least cause my nemesis, Summer Hoyt, to have one very public and dramatic meltdown.
Rule number one: I refused to be one of those disgustingly cute couples that were joined at the hip between classes. We were dating, not merging our lives and identities into a single life-form. Brett had his group of friends and I had mine, and until recently, they never intertwined because I despised most of the in-crowd. If I hadn't gotten to know the real Brett during a class project, I would've continued to write him off as a dumb jock.
Lesson learned, but still…
Rule number two: no public displays of affection at school. Not that I had any problem with PDAs with Brett. I liked kissing him. But I also had been known to lose control when I was with him…and lose articles of clothing. And after having that awkward run-in with my mom and her boyfriend's PDA on our living room couch last week, I'd rather not make a spectacle of myself in front of everyone. It opened up the doors to ridicule.
Rule number three: I wouldn't go to Homecoming with Brett. I'd made it this far through high school without plunging into that cheesy sea of balloons and crepe paper while wearing a silly sequin-laden dress, and I wasn't going to cross that line during my senior year.

The Queen B* and the Homecoming King (The Queen B*, #3)The Queen B* and the Homecoming King by Crista McHugh
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Alexis has given in and agreed to officially date Brett. She still has s few rules, which include: no going to homecoming, no public displays of affection, and no spending every waking moment together. She finds that once she agrees to open her heart to Brett, those rules don't seem quite as important as they did initially.

This installment picks up right where we are left after the 2nd in the series. This is a series that really needs to be read in order, and this book wouldn't stand alone. That said, I really enjoyed this series, so I think people should start at the beginning and enjoy them. Alexis is an interesting character, and through this series, we definitely see her grow and change. She maintains her desire to stand up for those being wronged and expose people who are doing ham to others. However, she starts to soften a little bit in terms of giving people a chance and trying not to assume the worst in all situations. I love seeing her open herself up to more people and deciding to take more personal risks. She's got some family drama, and some adjustment pains as she identifies herself as Brett's girlfriend.

I think if you have read the first books in this series, you should definitely read this book to wrap things up. This installment wasn't my favorite and I found it pretty predictive, but I was still glad to spend some more time with these characters. I liked this series, and will gladly read more by this author in the future. 3.5 stars

Book Blurb

Sometimes the line between good and bad simply depends which side you’re on…
Good guys can have unsavory secrets, while so-called criminals can live by a code of ethics rivaling that of any law enforcement agency. Bending the law for money, power, or revenge is one thing, but what if you’re bending it for your family—for love?
Who would choose to become involved with a man who walks on the dark side…
Some men will go to any lengths, legal or not, and make no apologies to protect their way of life and all they hold dear. But you don’t always choose who you love, and sometimes you just have to decide if you’re bold enough to risk it all and go along for the ride.
Thirteen masterful authors come together to present Men of Mayhem.
Compelling stories of loyalty and passion, love and lust, in which the moral and ethical lines are blurred, and call into question the notions of right and wrong.
What could be more exciting than taking a leap of faith…and landing in the arms of the last man you’d expect—but the only one who truly makes you feel alive?
What if your road to happiness leads to…

Men of Mayhem

Chasing Spring by R.S. Grey- Cover Reveal

Title: Chasing Spring
Author: R.S. Grey
Release Date: Feb 1, 2016
Find on Goodreads

I thought I’d left Blackwater, Texas behind for good. I didn’t belong in the small town, but my dad wouldn’t listen. He dragged me back home in his beat-up truck and dropped a bomb along the way: Chase Matthews was moving in with us. He was the golden boy of my high school, my former best friend, and the last person I wanted sleeping across the hall. His presence was too great a reminder of the ghosts I was trying to forget.
I didn’t ask for a hero. I don’t want to be saved.
To me, Lilah Calloway meant late nights sneakin’ out, moonlit hair, and sparklers in July. She was my best friend until the day she left and I’d assumed Blackwater had seen the last of her. Then, like a tempest, she rolled back into town for the final half of senior year. The chopped hair and dark devil-may-care attitude warned most people away, but I knew if I fought hard enough, I could find the lost girl.
I didn’t want to be her hero. Some girls don’t need to be saved.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way, I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
