Title: Point of Redemption (Nordic Lords MC, #2)
Author: Stacey Lynn
Publication Date: July 30, 2014
Synopsis
Lies. Heartbreak. Betrayal.
No one knew the devastation of those three words more than Faith Winston and five years ago, she endured every one of them. All she wanted was to feel safe and marry the very man who promised to love her and protect her, Ryker Knight.
But growing up in the Nordic Lords Motorcycle Club, she should have known she couldn’t have a happy ending. Instead, her world became a nightmare. The bikers—her family—abandoned her, leaving her to crash without their safety net.
Ryker Knight has spent the last five years consumed with guilt, running from the ghosts that haunt him. That is until his past catches up with him the moment his brother needs his help. Returning home to Jasper Bay, he’s forced to face the same ghosts he was running from. Only to find that the woman he loved is trapped in a hell of her own, entrenched behind enemy lines —and it’s all his fault.
And even though Ryker’s life comes with priorities that he can’t – and won’t - turn his back on, he refuses to leave Jasper Bay until he’s found Faith.
But will she want to return to the life she’s always wanted even if Ryker is no longer capable of giving her what he once promised?
My Review:
Point of Redemption by Stacey Lynn
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
Two people have suffered. Faith was sold by her addict mother to a motorcycle club to be used as a whore in exchange for drugs. Five years ago, Faith was in love with her fiancé Ryker who left town and broke all the promises her made her. Ryker left town after accidentally killing his father and believing that Faith betrayed him. He has returned at his brother's request to assist in some serious matters facing the MC his family was a part of and those close to his brother. When he sees that the woman he still loves is being abused and enslaved, he fights to correct the wrongs of the past five years and get her back with him where she belongs.
This book picks up where we are left after Point of Return. We learn more about both Faith and Ryker's past and then get to see a couple bits of the story we know from Point of Return from their perspectives. It is obvious that both Faith and Ryker are both sad and furious about how their lives went in directions they didn't want and never expected. It is also obvious that they both love each other a lot. It was nice to see Ryker try so hard to get Faith out of trouble and take his time to let her make her own decisions. It was good to see Faith be helped by people who care about her and risked a lot to make sure she was safe. There is all kinds of high drama here that can be expected from the lifestyles these people lead. They are rough and tough and do some crazy things, but it is hard not to get caught up in their stories and cheer them on. It was nice to touch base with Liv and Daemon again and to see what their lives look like now. This book was a nice sequel to the first in the series and I look forward to reading the next book.
*An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.
