Kelsey is a professor of meteorology who is struggling to find continued funding for her research that she is passionate about. She is intelligent and very professional, but has a past that is more wild than most realize. Archer has been troubled since childhood and has struggled with several demons. He has gotten his life together and is trying to prove that to people he has hurt in the past, and himself. When he and Kelsey cross paths, their attraction to one another is intense, but heir lives are so different it is hard to see how anything more than a hot fling could work.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. Kelsey is a great character and a perfect example of how all people are almost always different and more than you imagine them to be. It was wonderful to see Archer discovering all the layers of Kelsey, even more so than her friends who have known and cared about her for years. I also liked how Kelsey could see truths about Archer that others struggled with due to their history with him or preconceived notions. Despite their intense and extremely hot physical chemistry, they had to deal with some real struggles as the realities of their lives along with with the emotional baggage and fears they each carried error a force to reckon with. It was so clear that they could add so much to each others lives, that I was really hoping they would get things figured out. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future.
