Stuck in Between by Blakely Bennett- Review!

Stuck in Between (Bound by Your Love, #1)Stuck in Between by Blakely Bennett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jacqs loved being with her ex-boyfriend Bond but had to leave the relationship because he made it clear that while he loved her, he would still be seeing other women. They remain friends, which is difficult because Bond wants her back, but doesn't plan on changing. Jacqs finds the strength to tell herself and Bond what she wants and deserves and when she isn't expecting it, she finds herself falling in love with someone she never expected. Red has loved Jacqs for years, but stood aside while his best friend Bond didn't give her the respect she deserved. When their relationship ends, he makes it clear that he can be the man for her.

This story was quickly engaging and difficult to put down once I started it. There is all kinds of angst and drama going on here, and things are always exciting. One of the things I liked a lot about this book is that it deals with a lot of the messiness that comes with negotiating a non-monogomous relationship. There are a lot of menage books that make it seem like a simple solution to any situation where one person is in love with two people. This book makes it clear that there are a lot of tough emotions to be sorted through, and that good communication is essential. I absolutely love the relationship that develops between Jacqs and Red, and even though I didn't expect to, I started really enjoying Bond's place in the relationship as well. It is nice to see characters struggling with many different issues but all the while experiencing support from the friends they surround themselves with. All of the sexy parts in this book are way sexy, and I would love to see where the series goes from here. I am really hoping that we get to spend more time with Red, Jacqs and Bond!
