Alicia is a woman who enjoys order and planning. She has been in love with her friend Hunter since college, and while she has never let her feelings be known to him, she was hoping that he would notice her and fall in love with her as well. Hunter is in love with someone else and is about to be married. Alicia is heart broken, but a chance encounter with a man she meets at a concert may be providing her with an opportunity to feel something for herself. Dex Callahan is a musician who has taken himself out of the industry after facing tragedy and feeling that his life was out of control. He meets a sad Alicia after he agreed to perform for a friend, and is attracted to her in a way he hasn't experienced before. Dex offers Alicia a chance to forget her heartbreak by spending a week with him. Neither of them expect her to take him up on that offer, but she does.

I read this book straight through once I started. I haven't read others in this series, but I was easily able to connect with both Alicia and Dex and feel for their situations. Their sexual chemistry is very intense and it is clear just how good their connection is for both of them. There are still some ups and downs as these are characters who are both struggling to get through tough situations in their lives, but I liked the way that they were able to provide support and comfort for one another. I will definitely be seeking out and reading other books by this author (and in this series).
