Title: Beyond The Velvet Rope by Tiffany Ashley
Release date: June 24th

About Beyond The Velvet Rope by Tiffany Ashley:
Welcome to Club Babylon: where the A-list VIPs come to play
Scoring a gig at Miami's Club Babylon is a fantasy come true for New York promoter Thandie Shaw. The hottest club on the strip is a magnet for major South Beach movers and shakers. And Thandie's about to meet the biggest player of them all.
Babylon owner Elliot Richards is macho, arrogant, sexist—everything Thandie doesn't want in a boss or lover. Elliot is also the most erotic man who's ever wanted to take her to bed. But Thandie's no fool. Even as he tries to seduce her into a world of intense and shocking passion, she knows it's too good to last…especially after she uncovers Elliot's explosive secrets.
Thandie's going down a dangerous road, and she's risking a lot more than her career. Torn between doubt and desire, will she have to pay the ultimate price?
Darkly sensual and deeply moving, Beyond the Velvet Rope takes you into a world of uncontrollable desire and unexpected consequences.

My Review:
Beyond the Velvet RopeBeyond the Velvet Rope by Tiffany Ashley
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Thandie Shaw is a very successful promoter of New York night clubs. She gets an opportunity to take her skills down to Miami and do a job that is sure to take her career to new levels and be very rewarding for her. Elliot Richards is the owner of the club she will be promoting, and while he is an incredibly attractive man, he is also a completely chauvinistic, controlling, and a total player. Thandie finds herself in a fast-paced lifestyle where her career may be jeopardized by her intense and ill-advised attraction to Elliot, who seems to be trying pretty hard to seduce her and throw her off her game.

This is one of those books where I can't relate to the characters directly because they are living a lifestyle of wealth, celebrity, and drama at a pretty high level. It makes for interesting reading, and gives us a chance to see into the VIP nightclub scene. There is no denying the intense sexual chemistry between Thandie and Elliot, but aside from the actual sex (which was hot), it was hard to really feel their connection. There were also bits of the story where I would have liked to see more depth. For the most part though, this was an interesting story with interesting characters. I would read more by this author in the future.
