My Review:
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Thandie Shaw is a very successful promoter of New York night clubs. She gets an opportunity to take her skills down to Miami and do a job that is sure to take her career to new levels and be very rewarding for her. Elliot Richards is the owner of the club she will be promoting, and while he is an incredibly attractive man, he is also a completely chauvinistic, controlling, and a total player. Thandie finds herself in a fast-paced lifestyle where her career may be jeopardized by her intense and ill-advised attraction to Elliot, who seems to be trying pretty hard to seduce her and throw her off her game.
This is one of those books where I can't relate to the characters directly because they are living a lifestyle of wealth, celebrity, and drama at a pretty high level. It makes for interesting reading, and gives us a chance to see into the VIP nightclub scene. There is no denying the intense sexual chemistry between Thandie and Elliot, but aside from the actual sex (which was hot), it was hard to really feel their connection. There were also bits of the story where I would have liked to see more depth. For the most part though, this was an interesting story with interesting characters. I would read more by this author in the future.
