Silent No More (Silent #1) by N. E. Henderson- Review

Silent No More (Silent, #1)Silent No More by N.E. Henderson
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars

Shannon Taylor has a career she is passionate about and everything in her life seems to be going well. Until she finds her fiancé screwing her best friend. She realizes that she wasn't really attached to the fiancé after all, but she can't forgive her best friend's betrayal. A chance meeting with someone she doesn't realize she has a connection to leads to a passionate affair unlike any she has experienced. Nicholas Lockhart is a man who has never considered having any real relationships with a woman, but Shannon is causing him to feel things he doesn't know how to deal with.

Shannon is an interesting character and the more we learn about what she has been through the easier it is to feel for her. She's been through some terrible things, but has moved forward in her life and has taken control of the things she can. She is a strong woman who is living the life she wants. When she meets Nicholas, she realizes that her relationships ith her fiancé was seriously lacking. The passion between Nick and Shannon is intense, and even though Nick is very hot and very passionate, there is an edge there that was a little tough for me to get past. It is clear that he is trying not to be the man he despises and does not want to do anything to harm those he cares about. However, it is clear that he has some control issues and struggles to deal with his anger in a way that doesn't take down others in its wake. The further we get into the story the more we realize that there is a connection between Nicholas and Shannon that neither realized and is something that may jeopardize their whole relationship. This story held my attention throughout and I will be moving on to the next in the series right away.
