Elyse (Lucky) has escaped from an awful situation and is trying to stay off the radar. She applies for an unusual situation where she would make 10 pornographic films with one very mysterious man in exchange for a massive amount of money. Quinn is a powerful business man, and son of a Governor who makes very high end porn on the side in disguise. He himself has been through some intense trauma, and now has a specific plan to punish everyone who has wronged him. He hires Lucky to make his newest installments of porn, which will serve as part of his ultimate plan. What he doesn't plan on is the intense reaction he will have to her.
I liked that while this story had some of the same elements of other books in the genre, there were a lot of very unique aspects to this situation and the characters. I loved Elyse/Lucky. For all the horrible things she has been through, she knows who she is and what she wants. She is fiercely independent, and isn't afraid to go after what she wants. Seeing her struggle was tough, but seeing her situation improve as she finally had the resources was great. Quinn/Q is a little scary. I wasn't sure whether he was someone that was too damaged to ever really have a functional relationship. It was a pleasant surprise seeing the way he opened himself up to Elyse even if it was planned to be a temporary situation. I was really cheering for both of these characters and hoping they would each find happiness and peace.
