There's only one thing in life Lucien Knight really hates, and that's husbands who cheat on their wives. There's only one problem in Sophie Black's life. Her cheating husband... From the moment Lucien & Sophie meet, the seal is set. Romantic, emotional & intensely erotic, Knight and Play is the perfect read for lovers of international bestsellers Fifty Shades & Bared To You. Let yourself be swept away by Part One of the Knight series from Kitty French, a romance so hot it'll burn your fingers... CEO of Knight Inc. Lucien Knight is catch-your-breath gorgeous and damaged by his troubled past in Norway. All grown up and relocated to London, he's built his empire of adult clubs from the ground up to become the gorgeous patron saint of the sex industry. No one knows the dark childhood secrets that have given Lucien a backbone of steel and a heart encased in ice. No one until Sophie Black, that is... From the moment girl-next-door Sophie accepts the job as Lucien Knight's PA, she understands how Alice must have felt when she tumbled down the rabbit hole. Lucien takes her safe, vanilla life away and plunges her head first into a huge dish of fantasy flavours. Rich, spicy chocolate covered with dark, oozingly lickable sauce? Check. Tutti-frutti with indecently red, glistening cherries on the top? Yes please. Lucien strips away all of Sophie's inhibitions, and when he instructs her to select three new toys, she soon realises he has more than a game of Monopoly on his mind... He's opened the door to a whole new pleasure packed world without limits, and Sophie is utterly intoxicated. But how far is she willing to go? And what happens when she has to step back into reality again? Lucien & Sophie's is a story of star crossed love and forbidden passion, a sexual odyssey that spans the globe and changes both of their lives forever. Let it change yours, too.My Review:
Knight & Play by Kitty French
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Sophie Black is dissatisfied with her life. Her job is unfulfilling and her husband is increasingly distant and inattentive. Sophie applies for a job as PA at Knight, Inc which is a very successful company dealing in high-end sex clubs and toys. She figures the job may give her dull life a little excitement. Lucien Knight, sexy CEO of Knight Inc hires Sophie and in his research, finds that her husband has been cheating on her for years. He has a serious contempt for men who cheat on their wives, and makes it his mission to help Sophie and protect and free her from the damage he knows a cheating husband can do to a wife. On her own Sophie realizes her husband is having an affair and accepts Lucien's offer to show her what sex should be and empower her to have the strength to move past her husband's betrayal.
Despite some similarities to other books in this specific sub-genre (rich hot CEO meets much less experienced woman who he teaches to embrace and discover her sexuality, etc.) the characters and situations in this book feel unique. The dynamic between Sophie and Lucien is interesting and seems to bring out the best in both of them. Their chemistry is crazy hot, and the sexy stuff in this book is very sexy. It is easy to like Sophie and really feel what she is going through and the conflicting emotions she faces. Even through her hurt, she is thoughtful about her own actions and words tries not to hurt others. It's pretty tough not to be smitten with Lucien. He's honest, sexy, and his motivations are always good when it comes to Sophie.
This book was one that I read straight through, and the way it ends makes it impossible not to immediately start reading the next in the series. Good stuff!
Excerpt from Knight & Play:
“My husband is having an affair, Lucien.”
He had the grace to look genuinely shocked,
then waited and watched for her to
continue.
“And here’s the thing. Right at this moment,
he’s God knows where with God
knows who until next weekend, and I don’t
think I even care.”
How good did it feel to say that? Sophie was momentarily taken aback by the
strength of her relief at hearing her own
words out loud. Dan had held her down with
his casual disinterest for long enough.
Acknowledging it was a release. Lucien
crossed the room slowly, never taking his eyes
off her, and sat in the chair opposite.
“He’s a fucking fool.”
Sophie shrugged and looked out of the window.
“Maybe. He’s avoided having sex
with me for more than six months now.”
“I’ll say it again. He’s a fucking fool.”
“Yes.”
Sophie gazed at Lucien opposite. Jesus, he
was beautiful. If she was going to be
unfaithful with anyone, this sinful, sexy man
was it.
“Would it help if we fucked?”
Sophie laughed and put her hands to her cheeks
in shock.
“Could we at least have a drink first?”

Knight & Stay by Kitty French
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Knight & Stay picks up where Knight & Play leaves us. Sophie has confronted her husband about his years long affair, and he is now living with his mistress while she is living in the home that they shared feeling lousy about the way things have gone. She still has a very intense desire for Lucien, but she knows that having a lot of rebound sex with him won't really help her move forward in her life. She knows that her time with Lucien was a total fantasy and isn't something that could really last.
Sophie doesn't feel that she can return to working for Lucien with things the way they are, so she returns to her old job, which is as unbearable as it was when she left the first time. Feeling like she is out of options, and missing the level of excitement that her job with Lucien provided she tries to return to work for him, but with some restrictions in place. No flirting, no touching, no kissing. Obviously this proves incredibly challenging for both, and we realize that in her absence, Lucien has really missed Sophie even though he is still unable to claim any feelings other than sexual desire.
A business trip to Paris quickly devolves the rules Sophie put into place, and she decides that having "rebound sex" with Lucien is a plausible option. The chemistry between Lucien and Sophie is incredibly hot, and their time together in Paris proves to be really fulfilling for both of them. The challenge comes as Sophie develops stronger feelings than she would like to for Lucien, who has repeatedly warned her that he wasn't going to fall in love. Lucien begins to struggle with his own past as events in his life cause him to examine and deal with a lot of the feelings he has been carrying around for years.
Watching Sophie and Lucien stumble what is uncharted territory for both of them was great. I came to appreciate both characters and was really hoping that they would be able to sort out their issues and figure things out. I'm not sure where the next installment in this series will go, but I look forward to reading more bout all of these characters.
Excerpt from Knight & Stay:
"I think I love this
place," she whispered dreamily.
"And I love what this place
does to you," he countered against her lips.
"You used the L word
again."
"I did. I also love that
you're naked underneath this dress." He rocked his hips into her, his
erection hard against her abdomen.
The tip of Sophie's tongue snaked
over his lips, and he accepted her invitation willingly. The slow, late night
music washed around them, a steady beat to move to, to kiss to. Her mouth was
warm and open for him, and her arms tightened around him as he massaged her
bottom. Christ, she felt amazing. He wanted to ruck her skirt up and fill his
hands with her bare skin.
She breathed his name when he
squeezed her nipple and didn't stop him when he eased the cup of her dress down
just enough to give him access to stroke it without exposing her to the other
dancers. She bit down on his lip and groaned.
"Oh god, Lucien."
"Shh." He held her close
and kissed her ear. "I still love your tits."
"That's two days on the
run," Sophie said, a little unevenly. She was finding it hard to
concentrate on speech. "You're in danger of creating a habit."
"And you're in danger of being
screwed right here on this dance floor."
He felt her lips form a smile
against his mouth.
"Then I guess we’d better sit
down."
Knight & Day (Knight #3)

Kara Brookes hates liars. Dylan Day hasn’t told the truth from the moment his plane touched down in Ibiza. It’s a recipe for disaster. Lucien and Sophie are back, and have set up camp on the sun-drenched isle of Ibiza for the opening of the latest of Lucien’s strictly adult clubs. They’re joined for the summer by Sophie’s best friend Kara, and Dylan Day, Lucien’s newly appointed club manager. The laid back, smokin’ hot surf guy from California seems almost too good to be true… but there’s no smoke without fire. It’s going to be a long hot summer of love, lust, lies and wedding bells. But who will get their happy ever after? Romantic, emotional and intensely erotic, Knight & Day is the thrilling final installment of the USA Today bestselling Knight Series from Kitty French. My Review:
Knight & Day by Kitty French
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book picks up post-epilogue from Knight & Stay. Lucien is opening up another one of his posh club's in Ibiza so he, Sophie, and Kara (who have been setting up boutiques attached to the clubs) are there to put the final touches on everything and see it through the launch. Dylan Day is a man with a very troubled past who has traveled to Ibiza to move on from some pretty bad situations. Lucien meets Dylan and feels like he is the person he can trust to manage his newest club. Kara and Dylan have come crazy intense chemistry and quickly fall into a steamy sexual relationship.
Kara has been jilted at the alter, and between her ex-fiance and her dishonest father she doesn't trust easily. She also has no tolerance for lies. Dylan has secrets and in re-inventing himself is currently lying. Kara decides to give in to the serious lust she has for Dylan, knowing that i a few months she will be heading back to London. She isn't in a place where she ever plans to trust a man or give her heart away. Dylan is the perfect person to give her body to since he can obviously take care of that in ways she never experienced. Kara and Dylan quickly both realize that they are developing some really serious feelings for one another. Dylan struggles with how to come clean to Kara without losing her or being another "liar" in her life.
Sophie and Lucien are blissfully happy, but Sophie would really like to become Mrs. Knight. Lucien has to decide whether his ideas about marriage no longer apply since he has met the person who is clearly the love of his life and has already made him believe in things he never thought he would.
It was wonderful to get to spend more time with Lucien and Sophie and see how their lives together are progressing. It was also great to get to know Kara, who we meet in past books in this series as Sophie's best friend and source of support. I enjoyed experiencing things through Kara's eyes. She's honest, funny, and loyal and someone who isn't letting the lousy things that have happened to her dictate her future. Dylan is also someone who is incredibly easy to like. Besides being totally sexy, he was someone I really wanted to see be able to move past the situations in life he has endured and come out the other end. I was really cheering he and Kara on and really wanted to see them figure things out. I enjoyed this whole trilogy and will gladly read more by this author in the future.

Excerpt from Knight & Day:
“Listen, Kara…”
Dylan topped up their champagne glasses in the silence that followed Lucien and
Sophie’s
disappearance. “I think we may have got off on the wrong foot, and for my part
in that, I’m
sorry.”
He handed Kara
her glass and picked up his own, turning his body towards hers on the bench as
he
settled back
down. The top couple of buttons on his dark shirt were open, and Kara found her
eyes
following the
tanned column of his neck down and wondering what he’d be like if he lost the
shirt
altogether.
Balls. She closed her
eyes and brought her glass to her lips. She didn’t want to think that.
Don’t think it,
don’t think it, don’t think it.
Maybe if she
said it three times in her head something magical would happen and he wouldn’t
be so
attractive when
she reopened her eyes.
Well, that
didn’t work. In fact, if
anything, he looked sexier still, because he was watching her, waiting
for her.
“Are you
waiting for me to apologise too?” she asked, placing her drink down.
“Do you feel
like you need to?”
He was half
school teacher, half sex god, and for some reason Kara found herself ready to
be thrown over his knee and chastised for her sassy mouth. Oh Lord. This was
going to go bad. Champagne swilled in her veins, and there was no stopping
the words from leaving her lips.
“No. I actually
feel like sliding over there and unbuttoning your shirt.”
Dylan’s
expression went from lazy amusement to round-eyed surprise in five seconds
flat. Surprise laced with arousal.
“Which is why
you should leave right now,” Kara continued, aware that she’d said too
much, as always.
Her big mouth
had got her into all sorts of trouble over the years, and it would seem that
this was destined to be another of those times.
She watched him
swallow hard and wanted to trace her index finger down his Adam’s apple.
He watched her
watching him.
“Well, that’s
an unexpected development, English.”
“You’re telling
me,” she said. “Leave. Please?”
Kara manoeuvred
herself off the bench and stood to allow him room to get out.
“Should I
finish my drink?”
“Nope.”
“I could take
my shirt off?”
He was standing
too close, his fingers on the buttons at his chest, his eyebrows raised
suggestively, his
expression
caught halfway between joking and deadly serious.
“Goodnight,
Dylan.”
Kara crossed
her arms firmly, and for the briefest of seconds Dylan’s eyes moved down to the
cleavage
she’d just
inadvertently served up like two oranges on a platter. She didn’t dare open her
mouth for fear of what might come out. “Rip my dress off and take a proper
look,” sprang unhelpfully to mind.
Dylan leaned
down and touched his lips against her cheek; warm, tingly, and lingering for a
second
longer than
could be deemed platonic. Jesus, he smelt like nothing on earth. She wanted
to lick his face.
“Goodnight,
English,” he said softly. “I’ll see myself out. And for the record… I’ve never
felt less like
leaving
anywhere in my life.”
