Synopsis

My life was perfectly mapped out for me since before I was born. I followed it, begrudgingly, because it was expected. And then one day, everything changed. I woke up. Different. Independent. Free from all the rules that had defined my life. Only I have no idea how I got to where I am. I have no memory of the last two years. I don’t remember graduating college, and I certainly don’t remember Adam–the boyfriend I live with. He loves me. And I love him. At least that’s what everyone says. But when my memories return to me as dreams, I see a different version of the man everyone claims is perfect for me. He terrifies me. He makes my heart race and he makes me feel things I’ve never felt before. Do I want to welcome the emotional chaos that his piercing brown eyes and messy black hair causes every time I get a glimpse of him? Or should I run back to the perfectly manicured life that used to be mine?

My Review:
Remembering UsRemembering Us by Stacey Lynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amy wakes up from a coma after an accident with no memory of the past 2 years. She has no memory of the person sitting next to her who is the boyfriend that everyone claims she loves and who loves her. Amy comes to realize that a lot has changed in the past 2 years and she is struggling to figure out what she went through to be the very different person she seems to be now. Her memory is coming back in small pieces and her initial memories of Adam are not helping her to feel safe in her relationship or understand how she and Adam are as perfect together as everyone is telling her.

This book had me hooked quick and kept me engaged throughout the whole story. We are left with Amy to try and piece together the past couple years of her life and figure out who she really is and what she really wants. The memories that come back to her first are not all that helpful or encouraging and provide more questions than answers. It is easy to connect with Amy and understand how frustrating it is when the people in your life know things about you that you don't know about yourself. It is clear that Amy and Adam share an intense physical chemistry, but it took me a while to decide who I trusted and what I thought. I also felt for Kelsey and Adam as they had to be patient while Amy struggled to remember everything. I read this straight through once I started and would recommend this to anyone looking for a good sexy romance with some mystery thrown in. I will definitely read more by this author in the future.
