Audiobook Blog Hop! Including my top 3 choices for best audiobooks of 2013 (and a giveaway)

Hi Everyone! It is time for the Best of 2013 Audiobook Blog Hop where we highlight our favorite 3 audiobooks from 2013. This hop is hosted by The Book NymphoHot Listens, and Geeky Bloggers Book Blog.  It runs from Jan 1 2014 to Jan 15 2014.

Listening to an audiobook can be such an amazing experience!  A good narrator can add so much to what would already be a great read.  Experiencing a well-performed audiobook can make a great read even more immersive and wonderful.  Below are my picks for my three favorite audiobooks of 2013.  This was intensely hard, partially because some of my absolute favorites are books that came out before 2013.  However, there were some real goodies this year as well!  My top 3 are listed below, but you should also scroll down and check out the other participating blogs to discover other audio favorites of the past year.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane: A Novel

This is an amazing story that reminds us of the power of a good story-teller. What makes this experience even better is hearing the work narrated by the author himself, who besides being an amazing writer, is also a phenomenal narrator.  There is definitely something about an author narrating their own book that makes the experience even more special.  Like you are getting to experience the book exactly as intended.

NOS4A2: A Novel

Speaking of amazing story-tellers... Joe Hill is a fantastic one!  This book is completely engaging and exciting.  The narration is amazing and it is very easy to get completely caught up in the story and characters (even the super-creepy characters).

Let's Explore Diabetes with Owls

Fans of David Sedaris will love this!  If you don't yet know David Sedaris, you should rectify that quickly.  He's witty, hilarious, and all around wonderful.  This is another book that is narrated by its author, and as per usual, Sedaris does an awesome job of telling his own stories.

    1. This has been a very fun blog hop to be a a part of :) You really can't go wrong with any of David Sedaris' books on audio (or going to one of his live readings). He narrates all of his own books and and stories perfectly.
