My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
Rebecca is an over-worked Emergency Room doctor, who is surprised when an old flame she has never been able to quite get over shows up after being in a car accident. Dominic is the bass player for Black Phoenix, and realized when it was too late that he never should have let Rebecca go those years ago. Waking up after his car accident he is reunite with the woman he hasn't been able to get out of his head. He wants her back, but he hurt her badly years ago when he walked away from her, and fears it may be too late.
Rebecca is an easy character to like. She is smart and honest, and works hard to stay true to herself despite a lot of family pressure to be who and what they want her to be. Dominic is a very sexy man who definitely screwed up in the past, but who I was ready to forgive pretty quickly. Events in his past have made it tough for him to experience and express love. It is rewarding to see how he created a real family for himself through his bandmates and friends to make up for the family he didn't have as a child. Also, he is very sexy. The chemistry between he and Rebecca was intense and I was really hoping that they would be able to sort through their respective issues and feelings and finally be able to be happy in life and with each other. This is the first book I've read in this series, but this book has made me want to go back and read the first. I will gladly read more by this author in the future.
