Love the Way You Lie by Skye Warren
Publication Date: March 12, 2015
Genres: Contemporary, Dark, Romance
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Honor is working at a very seedy strip club and is doing what she needs to so that she can keep herself safe and free from those who are looking for her and her sister. She doesn't like it, but it is where she is choosing to be. Kip comes into the club and she starts to feel a lot of conflicting feelings. She's definitely not safe, but she can't help but want more from this dangerous man.
This book has a lot of mystery to it. We learn different things about who Honor was and what in her history lead her to where she is now. It is easy to sympathize with her and her situation. Kip is an interesting character, although I wasn't sure what to think of him for a while. Even though I wasn't really sure about him or his motives, there was no denying the chemistry between Kip and Honor. There are good reasons why Honor had to leave, but at times I was a little confused even after we were given certain information. There were twists and turns that I didn't expect, and the story was exciting with a lot of action throughout. I think my main complaint is that I would have liked a little more of everything. More development of Honor and her history, more about the various situations she was fleeing from and how she had been keeping herself safe. Overall, I enjoyed this and would read more by this author in the future.
